Consistent with our objectives to promote safe boating, the Bob Lake Safe Boating Committee is preparing to install a number of signs reminding boaters of the Federal Government regulation of 10km/h within 30 meters of the shore or docks. Initially this will be a pair of signs installed on the north and south ends of the first narrows – approximate sign placement has been depicted on our lake maps. These signs will also try to encourage a no-wake zone in order to help prevent shoreline erosion and reduce the unsafe conditions related to boating speeds that are particularly problematic in this area.

These signs, 30″ wide by 60″ tall (see sign design below), will be installed on the shoreline with permission from both the property owners and the Township of Minden Hills. We hope to have these installed before the peak of the 2020 summer boating season.
